In June I wrote a review of the Alpha-Phonics reading program. It's a very simple and easy to use program that (almost) painlessly helps to teach students to read. It's not just for the very young though. It can be used in a variety of situations. While I was working on my review, I thought of how it could be used in a tutoring scenario. Your situation may be different.
The Paradigm Company, publishers of Samuel Blumenfeld's program, have graciously offered to give one of my readers the following items:
- Alpha-Phonics book
- the set of 10 Alpha-Phonics readers
- and an Alpha-Phonics workbook

I have one beginning reader and a non-reader (only 4) so this would be helpful with helping both of them.
ReplyDeleteI'll be teaching my dd to read soon. We also have her younger sister coming up.
ReplyDeleteJust took my DS out of PS after his 1st grade year to add him in our homeschooling with my DD's. He is not yet reading and cannot even name all the letters of the alphabet. I read a review about Alpha Phonics on the AO site and had decided to give it a try. Then I saw your lovely giveaway posted at the AO forum. How wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a 6 year old beginning reader, and an almost-4 year old who thinks he should be doing school too.
ReplyDeleteMy almost 4 year old will be ready to read...soon. This looks like an interesting program and more 'lively' than Explode the Code ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm currently teaching two to read and would love to try the Alpha Phonic's program.
ReplyDeleteI want to tutor and am looking at this.
