NaNoWriMo Week 4

 

Just one more week and NaNoWriMo will be DONE. I for one am very glad lol. Although I *could* still reach my word count, my ‘novel’ has turned into something that I very much don’t like. But one thing is certain, I can always cut out a lot of it later and clean up a lot of it.

Number of words is the primary goal of NaNoWriMo and it’s good –to a point- but…it certainly doesn’t make for quality!!

And on that note here are our shameless stats:

Lee: Goal- 22,000; Progress-  a little over 12,000; Thoughts- I've kinda slacked off this year. *little laugh* I’m not as into it this year. 

Fox: Goal- 11,000; Progress- almost 5,000; Thoughts- blech.  {yes, he said just that- so expressive}

Me: Goal- 36,674; Progress- 22,693; Thoughts- I think I covered that up there at the start. I’ve checked out some books to help me get into the ‘mood’. Not sure if it’ll help. Will see.

NaNoWriMo Week 3

I’ve decided to make our ‘adventure’ through NaNoWriMo 2011 a weekly post! See our thoughts and progress each Tuesday during November.

This is week three:

Lee: Goal- 15,000; Progress-  11,154; Thoughts- I’m already falling behind! But it doesn’t matter because even if I get my words, it is only part of the whole story anyway. I will just keep going and not worry terribly about my word count.

Fox: Goal- 7,500; Progress- 3,725; Thoughts- *cricket chirp* hmm, it seems he is occupied with other things too much the last few days to have much in the way of ‘thoughts’ for NaNoWriMo… 

Me: Goal- 25,005; Progress- 14,954; Thoughts- LOL that’s what I think! I’m not sure what I was thinking that I had enough of a ‘story’ to write a novel! I’m still doing it but I think I will fall short of my goal unless I get a rush of ideas soon. I actually do not even like my original idea any longer. That’s pretty sad.

How are you doing with NaNoWriMo?

We’ve had a fun busy weekend so we didn’t type at all Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Today Fox typed a bit and Lee might still. I have a bunch of words waiting to be plunked out on the keys- just have a few things to get done before I can.

NaNoWriMo Tuesday Week 2

This is week two:

Lee: Goal- 8,000; Progress-  8,003; Thoughts- “Writer’s block + NaNoWriMo = BAD” Once you fall behind, it’s really hard to catch up. *So don’t fall behind*

Fox: Goal- 4,000; Progress- 2,878; Thoughts- I have no ideas, which is very bad!

Me: Goal- 13,336; Progress- 14,245; Thoughts- …my brain hurts… Writing so much makes me never want to write again! Until tomorrow

How are you doing with NaNoWriMo?

Day #1 of NaNoWriMo!!

Yikes! What have I got myself into??!

Fun…that’s what I am participating this year (along with both of the kids). In order to not overwhelm them, we’ve decided to postpone reading/writing assignments. Well, not all of them of course. Fox will be relieved of his 30 minutes a day reading from his list and Lee will take November off from Excellence in Literature (just as soon as she finishes one more assignment).

NaNoWriMo- A very late announcement!

I had mentioned the first week of November that Lee was participating in NaNoWriMo. Her goal was 25,000 words. She participated in the Young Writer's Program specifically.

She did it!!

Her final word count was 25,257 words.
