Look up the year that one of your parents was born on Wikipedia and write a poem about an event that took place then.
I only know when my mother was born so that'd be 1953. Apparently I don't know enough about any of the events to write about them singularly. {Haha! Those rhymed; totally unintentional.}
1953
A little girl was born, in August, in Arizona.
Before that, in April, recording a song by Sinatra.
January saw the birth of Little Ricky,
And September the marriage of JFK and Jackie.
Don't forget February's release of Peter Pan
Or November's revealing hoax of the Piltdown Man.
Who will forget the explosive Upshot-Knothole Grable
Or the great Mickey Mantle
Of January and April?
DNA was explained in February
And by October the UNIVAC started to use memory.
This was the year 1953.
