Last Friday I mentioned (and possibly the Friday before) that this Friday we were going to be meeting up with some homeschoolers to check out a nature center (hoped to take a nature walk). Well, dh didn’t have to work today and so instead we planned on going to the ZOO!
Woke up this morning to snow. Yep, snow. We didn’t go to the zoo I was sad, very sad but decided to put on my *ahem* big girl panties and clean house instead (oh so. much. fun…). Lucky for me dh came to the rescue and suggested we go to one of the many museums around Cleveland. Which one?
Located right next to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame: the Great Lake Science Center. The building to the left is the Hall of Fame. This photo was taken from inside the Science Center.
Here’s another from inside (yes, I spent some time looking out- look at the buildings!!):
There was so much to do there! We spent about 5 hours there and still could have stayed for at least 2 more hours. Well, some of us couldn’t- the noise was so much that 3 of the 4 left with headaches. It’s a very neat place!
I couldn’t take as many photos as I wanted. I couldn’t get my camera to focus due to the low lights. Here are some of the ‘highlights’
And here is one of my favs because I got all three in one photo (that blur is Fox lol he was that way most of the time!)
Otherwise our week was... so-so. Monday I was second-guessing our homeschool. I don’t know why really. I just have those moments. I’m so grateful for all the encouraging comments that people left for me. I think because of that I forgot to keep record (on here) until Wednesday. Well, that and NaNoWriMo (which I will tell you- I’m behind *blush*).
On Wednesday, Lee and I talked about what her goals are as far as college (or no college). Thursday I posted what we did with Composer Study (it was really done on Wednesday lol- and I lied- we didn’t do the rest today. We skipped school and went to the museum We’ll finish up Monday with Haydn, maybe).
And today we had no school er, a field trip This is the end of week 15 so we have one more week of school then one week off (Thanksgiving break- it worked out so well
). And the swell thing is that there is only 3 weeks after that until Winter Break. No school until 2012 then~!
My life this week was …I hesitate to say better but it wasn’t ‘worse’- it can always be worse. I did, once again, realize that I am not doing anywhere near enough for God. He gives me so much and I take- but rarely give.
Homeschool this week went fairly smoothly but we are trying new things with math and biology. Will see how that goes.
People we are seeing- tomorrow my sister and her family are coming to visit. Not one of my family members have visited me in 6 years (even when I lived in the same state {oh, I know there were legitimate reasons}) so her coming is super exciting!!
My favorite thing this week was probably the field trip today. It was so fun. Loved it. And we ‘learned’ a lot
I’m grateful for a savior who loved me so much that he died for me. I am grateful that God has given me so much in my life (I should make a list some time- it’d do me good to reflect on all that he has bestowed on me). I am grateful that I can see my kids and husband smile and hear their laughter. It is a good life that I have.
I am praying for peace in my heart; for my friend Christy that God will guide her and direct her family’s path; for my children’s heart; for my mom’s move to a new house; for friends from the TOS Crew- may God touch each and every one and hold them close.

ReplyDeleteWe'd be excited for snow around here, but that's just because we get it so rarely. Looks like a busy-fun week!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great spur-of-the-moment field trip! And as for second guessing yourself, it must have been that kind of week, because I was doing it too, even though what we do now works for us.
