Homeschool Swapping Goodies!

Have you heard of the HSBA Swap? I participated this past month and it was a lot of fun choosing things for my swap sister based on what I knew she might like. My swap sister sent me a wonderful package!

What you don't see are the two bags of Reese's Pieces and pack of two Pentel R.S.V.P pens. I LOVE REESES AND PENS!!! I actually received the package as I was heading out the door to go on my 8 day trip to Oshkosh, WI, with family. I quickly opened the package so I could take a picture (okay, okay, honestly I just wanted to see what was in it!). I took a quick picture with my phone, with the intention of posting to my blog while we were on the road. I saw the Reese's and the pens and yank! Those went directly into my purse! Great things to have on a trip: snacks and pens lol! Unfortunately I did not get to post to my blog while I was gone. But finally, I am sharing the goodies I received. *Edited to add: Somehow I totally missed the coffee that was included for me. The best flavors too: Chocolate Velvet and French Vanilla. Those were intended to go with me on the trip as well but instead were put away in the cupboard and I just now- 08/17/10- rediscovered them! Oh, Happy Day! :)

Did I mention I love pens? Well, I sooo love page protectors and dividers also! I seem to collect them. I find them all over: in drawers, in books, in binders (where they're supposed to be??), in boxes; they're every where. But I never have enough! I am so grateful for these. Since my swap sister (btw, her name is Angela) is a homeschooler also (and for many more years than I and with one more kid) she knows what I need :)

She sent me some nice potholders as well. Just in time, too. I have a pair that my great grandmother made for me when I got married (almost 14 years ago) that are starting to unravel; they were crocheted. I'm not sure how well the picture came out but she was wonderful and sent me some safety pins and straight pins for my sewing projects. The safety pins may just come in very handy with my kids' 'projects'- they love to 'make' things with rubber bands, belts, safety pins (when I have any) and random things. The safety pins will hold them all together. I think I should hide them now that I think about it... lol

And to make it all smell wonderful (not sure if that was the intent but it had this effect) was a lavender sachet. Lavender is my absolutely favorite scent ever. It is so soothing and calming. I was shaking the sachet around my house before I left and I think I could smell it when I came home! -That might just be my imagination but it works for me!-

I think it is so sweet of people to take the time and effort to put together packages for others that they do not even really know- something that will brighten the day.

Thank you so much, Angela!!
