Once a catch-all for our homeschool and everyday family life, now a spot for my meanderings about whatever comes to mind- and always books.

…every winged fowl…
And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. –Genesis 1:21

Perfect Gifts
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. -James 1:17

I will lift up mine eyes…
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. Proverbs 10:22 KJV
While reading today, I came across that verse and had to stop to think about it more.
These are my thoughts. The blessing of the Lord does indeed make rich, but often people will say that there is suffering and persecution that comes along with being a Christian following God’s path. That is true. But it doesn’t mean that the blessings given by God are what has caused the sorrow. That plain and simply is the devil. He tries to tear us down because the blessings of God strengthen us. He wants to tear us down and make us feel that God is punishing us- or even not blessing us. He wants us to turn away from God.
God gives graciously and with love. And yes, there are tests and trials along the way. But the blessings of God, when we receive them, include no sorrow. It is people and other sources that try to rob us of the joy of those blessings, possibly resulting in sorrow.
The Lord has blessed me abundantly and I have no sorrow.

Word Filled Wednesday -09/29/2010
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal; But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through or steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart also be.
