Cold Porcelain Recipe

A while back I'd posted that we had made some 'polymer' clay. I don't know if that is exactly what it is really called but that is what we had been looking for. Here is the super, extremely simple recipe I used for the 'polymer' clay...and my thoughts on it:
Cornstarch
White Glue

Mix those two ingredients until you get the consistency that you want. It needs to be soft, so not too much cornstarch; but it must stick together, so not too much glue. Once it is 'just right' you can mold it into the shape you want.

My thoughts: I don't like it. It is not as versatile as I'd hoped. It is only for playing around and making little figurines and sculptures but I don't feel it is good enough for that. The snowman I made leaned because the clay was too soft and it cracked as it dried.

Here are three links to basically the same recipe for "Cold Porcelain" that I would like to try some time soon.

I think these will be something to try on a day when we've not much going on and we feel artsy and craftsy :)

Anyway, that's just a bit of useless (or perhaps super useful to you!) bit for the day. Off to do something else :) PS: Never got around to finishing my Weekly Wrap-Up- sigh.... lol maybe next week!
