An Additional Reading List for 2016

I really am not trying to read a ton of books in 2016 {because I failed at my small attempt at that in 2015}, but would like to branch out with what I am planning on reading. Reading blogs tonight I came across Carol's post about a European book reading challenge. For this one there are a list of countries considered European to choose from. Or specifically:
Read books by European authors or books set in European countries (no matter where the author comes from). The books can be anything – novels, short stories, memoirs, travel guides, cookbooks, biography, poetry, or any other genre. You can participate at different levels, but each book must be by a different author and set in a different country – it's supposed to be a tour.
The base participation level is to read just one book from or about any of countries listed. I can do that. I think the toughest will be to decide on one. I'll see how that goes, in conjunction with the other challenge. I mean, I don't have to only read one book but that's all I have to read to be a participant.

At some point I will need to actually choose the books I'll be reading.

I've decided on at least one book: Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah (Russia)
I have to choose a different book because Winter Garden isn't really set in Russia. Only portions of the story, memories that is, are set in set in Russia. I'm about 1/3 of the way through it already so I'll finish it but this isn't my book for the challenge. I will keep looking!
