Truth embedded in life. As I've read the book Echoes of Eden and am reading The Stories We Tell, this was an interesting article on how we can see Truth in things where it isn't obvious. "Shawshank Redemption" was one of my favorite movies. It is not a movie I recommend now because of the extreme situations portrayed (if you read the article, you'll know what sort of things I'm talking about), but I agree with Longenecker that "truth is embedded in the drama." It's just nicer when we can see it without the ugliness.
And while I was at the Imaginative Conservative, Tolkien's politics caught my eye. I'm not much for politics myself. But I like Tolkien.
Technology News & Innovation, specifically the articles on apps for storytelling and etc, and Deeper Learning. The only apps that look really interesting might be the NGAkids Art Zone and Planets. Otherwise, the deeper learning article is really a no-brainer but apparently, it's not a common And from eSchool News, 5 ed tech predictions for 2015. I'm so not comfortable with the amount of technology in education but I can't really fight it as it is here to stay. "In short, 2015 will be a year of change. Those changes will require learning new rules and new ways of doing things, but in the end we expect to see a more effective E-rate program helping to further the cause of internet access in our country’s schools and library buildings."
