People of all ages love tales of romance and rescue, stories with happy endings, plots where good wins over evil. The ancient writings of the prophets tell the original story of romance and rescue –where good puts down evil in a most unexpected way. This old, old story with its grand characters and epic plots is about a King and His secret plan to rescue His rebellious subjects from the kingdom of darkness and make them fit to live with Him in His kingdom of light, happily ever after. But did this story really happen? Or is it just another imaginary tale? This show-and-tell presentation points to the clear answer.

Experience the story. Visit the kingdoms. Meet the King. And decide.
Richly illustrated, this book takes the events of the Bible that many of us know, from Genesis to Revelation, and puts it in story form. The format makes it easier to ‘get’, perhaps, than simply reading out of the Bible. It is appropriate for any age.
It is set up like this:
- Behind the Scenes (basically tells why this book was written and what to expect)
- Opening (The King and His Kingdom, Prophets, and Universe)
- Part 1: The King Foretells His Plan (from Genesis through the prophets)
- Part 2: The King Fulfills His Plan (the Gospels and some from Acts, Psalm and Revelation)
- Closing (how does it end??)
- Bonus Features (questions, endnotes and suggested readings)
Throughout each story there is the retelling by P. D. Bramsen but also scriptures directly from the NIV and NLT Bible.
I liked to see the Bible in this way. There are many who find the Bible difficult to read and I think this is a help. The illustrations are wonderfully done. If you are concerned that the retelling of the Bible will mar it in some way, it really does not. In fact, it brings it more to life. It makes it more of a reality.
I am a firm believer of reading directly from God’s Word and we use the King James Version Bible in our home. Majority of the ‘retelling’ of this book is actually taken from the Bible (NIV and NLT); some of the ‘background’ details are written by Bramsen. It is very easy to follow up any of this with reading directly from your own Bible.
I was privileged to receive this book from ROCK Resources through the Book Crash book review program, for free in exchange for an honest review. And… I was also given a copy from P. D. Bramsen himself to give to one of my readers!
