In my life this week… …I got to drive our lawn-mower. It’s a little achievement but I was proud of it- it’s rather fun. I’ve read a lot of the books in my ‘to-read’ pile. Also made some sun tea.
…and I was the winner of a wonderful giveaway at Amy’s Bow of Bronze blog from Hope of My Heart. I got that just today and it is absolutely beautiful. It was a very nice surprise.
In our homeschool this week… …we ‘finished’ a few things. I suppose I should really say that we’ve decided to be finished with them. We took off on Thursday because it was just one of those days. Monday is no school because it is a ‘holiday’ {it’s my birthday
}. Since it’s been 2 weeks since my last update for school, I better do it now. Feel free to skim over it…

I am inspired by… …those who work from home and still homeschool. I’m thinking they have an awesome sense of organization as well as will-power to be able to do it.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing… …tomorrow morning we are going to play chess again with some others. I hope that we also get out to one or more of the Metroparks because it’s just perfect for that. If not tomorrow, soon. Many times.
My favorite thing this week was… …probably the Mommy necklace with my kids’ names on it. It’s so beautiful. And their names are spelled *right*. That in itself is wonderful
What’s working/not working for us… …it’s all working but we are just getting tired. Ready for our summer break.
Questions/thoughts I have… …how much time do I need to invest on my blog and social media to actually make a worthwhile income? And is it better than going outside of the home to have a more consistent income? Just thinking.
Things I’m working on… …thinking about how to do my garden. My wonderful hubby purchased the dirt I need but I have to come up with the frame for my garden. Just ‘winging’ it doesn’t look like it will work well for an organized garden. Also I have to figure out exactly what we want in our garden.
Thinking about ‘working’ on my internet/online income possibilities. I don’t mind at all putting in some time and a lot of effort but cannot put out a lot of cash to get things going. That’s counter-productive.
Trying to preread books for the kids’ school next year. It’s a good thing I have until July… there’s a lot of reading to get done!
I’m reading… … The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate by Jacqueline Kelly; The Fort by Bernard Cornwell; The Holiness of God by R. C. Sproul; and The Brendan Voyage by Tim Severin
I’m cooking… …tonight is sloppy joes. Tomorrow…undecided. Sunday will be either stew or a roast (crock pot, I love you!). Anything beyond that is anyone’s guess lol.
I’m grateful for… …many things. For being a part of the TOS Crew, being able to review many different products that I wouldn’t ordinarily even know about possibly. And then finding that some of those products are a great fit. God knows what we need, even if/when we do not.
I am ever grateful for a loving, wonderful husband. He takes care of us in every way so that we do not have to worry. He follows what is right. He shows me every single day how much he loves me.
My kiddos. I will say that today has been a wee bit stressful with attitudes but those moments when they say they love me out of the blue or will offer to help with a task {without prodding from me} or when they show kindness to others, it warms my heart.
I’m praying for… …wisdom. Peace {which I have but I don’t think it hurts to pray for it to remain}. Help with decisions that I think are of extreme importance. I am praying about baptism. I’ve never been and I sincerely want to be…but I also want something else that only God can make happen {and I’ve no doubt He can if it is His will}.
A photo, video, link, or quote to share…
And our progress of our Art poster I’m linking up with the following places- come and visit:
Thank you for linking with Collage Friday!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your week in review. I have one more review for the TOS Crew and then I am finished.... it has been a wonderful year and it brought so many opportunities for my children.
As for blogging and making money from it - I do think it can be done and I do think it takes a LOT of organization. There are so many places to research online about that if that's what you choose. :-)
Have a great weekend!
I really like the Collage Friday link up! It's making me take more photos of what we are doing :) I'm still a work in progress ;)
DeleteAs for the working from my blog, I'm seriously looking into it but it'll take a lot of talk with hubby, lots of prayer and the tough part- organization, motivation and stick-to-it-iveness! :)
Thanks for stopping by :)
I love reading what's going on with you, Blossom! That necklace is so lovely, and I know it's going to look wonderful on you. And Happy Birthday, my fellow May baby. :) Wish we could have tea together and talk about baptism. I'll be praying for you, my friend.
ReplyDeleteHi, Trisha! Happy Birthday to you, too :) Thank you very much for prayers- they are always welcome. I would love to be able to have tea with you to talk about *anything*! Perhaps someday it will happen :)
DeleteThank you very much for stopping by and leaving a comment.
The necklace is beautiful! Sounds like a good week. We too are tired and ready for a vacation!
ReplyDeleteHi, Leah! I've got to head over to your blog- it's been a long time. Hope your break is coming up soon and you get refreshed :)
DeleteThank you for stopping by :)
Wonderful week!! The necklace is lovely. How special. Loving the new blog look.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I like the blog look :) It's a keeper...for a while anyway ;)
DeleteThank you for stopping by :)
Hi! I'm visiting from Collage Friday. The "art poster" is really cool looking! It feels good to just "be finished" with some things for the year, doesn't it! We decided to be "done" with formal math and spelling lessons just a bit early this year, and pick them back up again in a couple months.
ReplyDeleteYes, we will be picking some things back up in a couple of months as well. We start back in July. At least one book will be read over 'summer break'.
DeleteWe really are liking our art poster :) I forgot to actually link the first photo I took of it, I just noticed! If anyone wants to see that, look here: http://www.nlfamily.net/2012/03/fun-art-project.html
Thanks for stopping by :)
What a wonderful week. I love Khan Academy. We are looking into a Latin program, which one do you use? Thank you for sharing your week.
ReplyDeleteWe use Memoria Press First Form Latin. It is for 4th grade and up, I believe.
DeleteThank you for stopping by :)
Way to go on working through the reading pile.
