In my life this week…
…was mostly good experiences. Work went well this week. Thought the first week I wouldn’t make it. They are totally unorganized and the office that I work at is neglected by upper management. Fortunately my coworkers are quite nice and only a few customers are jerks rude.
In our homeschool this week…
…went quite well although I was not here in the mornings three days. They were responsible and completed {most of} their work. Friday wasn’t as …productive as I’d hoped but that is mostly my doing. I wasn’t up to finishing school with them after work and let it slide. They’ve done well.
Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…
… if you are a planner, make sure you have that plan in place- or it’ll drive you crazy when you don’t. Not much advice, is it?
I am inspired by…
…my blog followers. I talked about something that has been bothering me for about a month now and some left comments that have helped me. I’m not ‘whole’ yet but I’m a work in progress. Thank you {you know who you are}.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
…this past week was nowhere and no one. Next week…I think it is the same. My dh and I will be going to dinner tomorrow night. We’ve gone out to eat- just the two of us- once since moving here. It’s a rare occurrence. I would like to take the kids to one of the museums in the area on a free admission day- just have to find out when and where.
My favorite thing this week was…
…my hubby. I just love him sooo much! Last night I stayed up reading a book while he slept and he just made me smile – even in his sleep! Oh, and maybe payday. My job is part time but that little extra bit of cash was nice to see in my bank account.
What’s working/not working for us…
…is what we have been doing. Of course when I do not fully schedule the subjects they don’t get done {who woulda thunk it?}. The kids have shown good responsibility this past week with school and chores.
Things I’m working on…
…are the kids’ schedules. I have to find that list I made awhile ago about books to add into the schedules. Sigh. If I can’t find it, it won’t be the end of the world, just a little more work for me. Teach me to keep track of things…
I also updated the links on my AO/HEO Kindle Ready Books up to Yr7. I checked the links up to Yr8 but haven’t updated the list yet for that year. I hope this weekend to get to Yr9 and to put Yrs10-12 on the site.
I’m reading…
… The Apothecary’s Daughter by Julie Klassen (got it through eBookFling!), The Lady of Bolton Hill by Elizabeth Camden (just barely have started it), Surprised by Laughter by Terry Lindvall (review book), and trying to get to some of the books the kids are to read for school. It’s difficult to listen to a narration if I don’t know what it is they’ve been reading!
I’m cooking…
…chicken with rice, veggies and cheese for Sunday lunch at church tomorrow. Thinking we will have fish for dinner tonight. It’s funny how fish used to be one of my least favorite dishes as a kid and now it’s a go-to meal; super easy and good for us!

Hi Blossom! I really enjoyed The Apothecary's Daughter and went on to read two other of Klassen's books on my Kindle. They were also well worth reading. I'm glad work is tolerable for you; I know the paycheck is a blessing. We could use an extra paycheck around here, too, but I can't yet leave the girls for an outside job. I look forward to checking your Kindle-ready books for AO list. Thanks for doing that work!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good week. I too have lost a list of books I want to add to our line-up...maybe our lists are in the same place! Here's to another good week coming up. :)
ReplyDeleteKlassen's a good author -I'm reading her newest novel.
ReplyDeleteWe pretty much stayed home all week too...and will be this week as well. Sounds like you had a nice week, and the extra paycheck would make me happy too!!
