What We Accomplished… Days # 44-50

I decided not to put the dates in the title because it’s confusing. We have taken a Friday and a Wednesday (or was it a Tuesday not a Friday??) off since my last updated post on school work. It’s easier to just say “Day #”. We are on Day #50 today (which according to my schedule, puts us two days behind…)- only 130 days to go!

I finally got my notification into the school district. I stressed over it. A lot. There seemed to be so much more required than in Wyoming. It is actually a little annoying. But it is how it is. I go with the flow…most of the time.

On to what’s been done:

Lee:
Bible:
Reading (Numbers 36-Deut. 3, Acts 4-6), verse (Romans 6:1-20), Mere Christianity (chapter called Hope)
Math: Life of Fred Beginning Algebra (Lesson 66-71)
History/Geography: The Life of Christopher Columbus, started Heritage History Classical Curriculum (working on British Middle Ages- Plantagenet Kings), Wes. Civ. (to page 322, wrote on the Renaissance Society)
Language Arts: Jensen’s Grammar FINISHED  (yay!), History of English Literature (chapter 39), started Excellence in Literature (so far has read The White Heron), has started NaNoWriMo preparations
Foreign Language:  First Form Latin (Lesson 19 quiz and started Lesson 20 [which is a review chapter])
Gov’t/Economics/Civics/Logic: Utopia, finished The Gracchi for Plutarch’s Lives, started Principles of Marketing (which I am not sure if fits in this category…), Whatever Happened to Justice? (chapter 22)
Science: Biology (pages 83-97, reviewing for chapter 5 test)
Composer Study: Finally got going again with Vivaldi study. Listened to The Four Seasons over and over and over again Winking smile  and Gloria, did coloring pages, geography/map page and Composer Info-card.

Fox:
Bible: Reading (Number 25-28, Luke 2-4), verse (Isaiah 40:28-31 and Proverbs 6:16-17), Saints & Heroes (Dominic and Francis)
Math: Life of Fred PreAlgebra 2 with Economics (chapter 30-Final Bridge try 2)
History/Geography: Ohio ‘study’ (How to Draw Ohio’s Sights and Symbols- pg 6), started Heritage History Classical Curriculum (has read through a few chapters in a few books, done time line work and map work), Around the World in 180 Days (Asia- pages 3-11 [still working on completing them fully])
Language Arts: 30 minutes of reading (Blackbeard, Across Five Aprils, Number the Stars), The Age of Fable (finished chapter 31), The Hobbit (through 1/2 of chapter 11), Robert Frost (read the poem The Witch of Coos today [his choice]- weird… lol!)
Foreign Language: First Form Latin (Lesson 19 quiz and started Lesson 20)
Gov’t/Economics/Civics/Logic: Plutarch (Solon- finished), Whatever Happened to Penny Candy? (through chapter 9)
Science: The Sciences (finished Astronomy), Murche’s (to Lesson 20), The Story Book of Science (to chapter 16)
Penmanship: Pictures in Cursive (worked ahead and has only one week left in the book- will have to either acquire the next or make similar work myself)
Composer Study: Finally got going again with Vivaldi study. Listened to The Four Seasons over and over and over again Winking smile and Gloria, did coloring pages, geography/map page and Composer Info-card.

Lee especially doesn’t like it but we have been getting going early in the mornings and are done with school by 2 pm, at the latest. Today we did take a break from the last two things they had to do for school and visited the park. That made us finish, officially, at about 3:45 pm today. That’s alright with me still. It feels very good to get up early, go to bed somewhat early and have time to do things during the day. And to feel accomplished. That is a great feeling.

I finally have internet at home but I must be careful that it does not suck me in again. I will use it as much as I need to but hopefully not much more than that. It’s more fun to be in real life than online Winking smile

And on that note: I have boxes to break down, dinner to start and some laundry to wash. Have a great night!
