Wednesday is wrapping up here at our house and it's been a productive one. While inputting Fox's work into k12 I realized how well both of the kids are doing. Even though it seems so stressful at times (pulling my hair out stressful), it is nice to see that they are doing well. I've also been looking at the books Lee is using and realizing that she is almost done with some of them and it is such a wonderful feeling!
Just a recap of Fox's and Lee's progress in school:
Fox has done very well (imho) with 'catching up' in k12. Here are his stats (not all done this week!):
- 43% complete in PreAlgebra with an overall of 97% (he's done 68 of 160 lessons)
- 12% complete in Language Skills with an overall of 95% (he's done 27 of 222 lessons -made up of Grammar, Composition and Vocabulary)
- 18% complete in Literature with an overall of 93% (he's done 28 of 160 lessons)
- 20% complete in Earth Science with an overall of 93% (he's done 19 of 96 lessons)
- 14% complete in American History before 1865 with an overall of 96% (he's done 14 of 159 lessons)
- 7% complete in Intermediate Art: American Art with an overall of 97% (he's done 5 of 72 lessons)
- 26% complete in Music Concepts with no percentage given because there are no assessments (he's done 9 of 34 lessons)
- 22% complete in Spanish with an overall of 98% (he's done 161 of 730 lessons)
You can probably tell which subjects he prefers to do (or that I make him do most often lol). Tomorrow we are going to work more on the Art because he really likes that subject and there is a fun activity coming up (making finger masks :D
Lee has done quite well also. Because we do not use grades such as k12 does I don't really have the same breakdown for her but here is what she has accomplished :)
She is up to:
- Lesson 26 in Jensen's Grammar (and yes, this one is 'graded' but I wait until the very end to give her a grade- she is doing just fine- if I had to guess at a grade it would be at least 95%)
- Chapter 11 in History of English Literature (am loving this book personally and actually bought a print book because I like it so much!)
- Chapter 11 Review in World Studies (this one is also 'graded' and although she's had a problem on a chapter or two, she's doing well- probably at least 90%)
- Last chapter in The Brendan Voyage! She gave a victory whoop today when she discovered this. Actually she started the last chapter last week but didn't seem to notice... her written narrations are coming along nicely for this.
- Chapter 17 in In Freedom's Cause
- Chapter 8 in Whatever Happened to Justice? (this one makes me wonder if it is complete enough...but she does also have the Constitution class at Co-Op)
- Part 1, chapter 2 in Ourselves and I'm liking her written narrations a lot for this one (can tell she enjoys it more)
- Chapter 21 in Fearfully & Wonderfully Made (and we made it through an entire chapter at one sitting this time!)
- Lesson 35 ?? in Life of Fred Beginning Algebra- using the Home Companion (we've gotten caught up on a few of the problems... but I'd say her 'grade' would be at least 90-93%)
Hopefully tomorrow and Friday are so good :) It will be an awesome week indeed!
I love hearing about all you are accomplishing and how your children are doing! What great stats :)
