Just a quick recap so far because I am behind on my school.
Bible: Genesis 39-40. Joseph is sold to Potiphar and is imprisoned because of lies told by Potiphar's wife. Two of the king's prisoners have a dream that Joseph interprets. They both turn out as he has said: the butler is restored to his butlership and the baker is beheaded ("lift up thy head from off thee"), hung from a tree and eaten by the birds. The butler was asked by Joseph to tell the king (Pharaoh) about him, but the butler forgets.
Julius Caesar: Talked about Caesar's treatment of his soldiers and why they fought so courageously under him. Also a mention of Caesar's physical traits. He suffered from violent headaches and epileptic fits yet he still pushed himself hard. He said "Honours to the great and comforts for the infirm". Caesar insisted on sleeping while on the march, either in his chariot or in a litter, enabling the army to travel from Rome to the Rhine (the book says "Rhone"?) in only 8 days!
Natural History: Slum Kitten: Kitty is still in search of food but living in the iron-yard isn't producing enough for her and she ventures outside through a hole in the fence. She encounters a big dog and swiftly goes back through the hole to safety. After 3 more days of no food she cannot take it anymore and runs fast past the dog only to be bombarded by boys tossing bricks at her! She is given a piece of meat that is relayed as the best meal she has ever had. She makes it back to the iron-yard and sleeps the night away. Two months pass, Kitty is full grown and she knows her way around the area fairly well. Another venture out of the iron-yard brings her the bird-man's building. The very box she was born in is still there and she finds it to be familiar and decides to take up residence again.
Independently they worked on LIFEPAC math (Fox- 2 pages, Lee- pages 35-41) and Fox had FRT (he is reading ALW for that- pg 26-35- and also Age of Fable- pg 11-16), while Lee worked on Brendan Voyage (finished chapter 4). Now it's lunch time :) Update later, of course :)
Update: 1:58pm: Both did Daily News and copywork. Fox did LIFEPAC Language Arts (started Unit 9) and Lee worked on different types of poems (diamonte and tanka today). Found a nifty site with resources for writing and such: The Teachers Corner: Writing Lesson Plans: Poetry (added to my links page). Worked with Lee on FWM, Fox with CBOM. I plan on maybe starting FFL today but I am not 100% sure we will today. It may be a FL free day...I have a massive headache. They are going to watch Joseph King of Dreams in a little bit because we found it at the used book sale and it goes somewhat along with our Bible reading. Found the entire movie on Google videos! Isn't that neat? Anyway when they get to watch it I will have time to work more on my school then!
