It was a bit on the windy side and not quite as warm as it looks out there but we went anyway. The kids zoomed through most of their schoolwork so that we could go.
There were some that got deleted, but not because of the faces that they made or because their hair was flying all crazy like. No, some got deleted because they were out of focus or focused not on the kids but instead a bar of the merry-go-round or the car in the background.
We took along turkey and cheese sandwiches, premade but for the tomato and avocado. There was water to drink and one lone Diet Mt. Dew (of course they got a drink *wink*). I did bring some cheetos (?) for them to have as well but they didn't want it ..hm, oh well, probably not very good for them anyway! And finally, I put three frozen applesauce cups in the bottom of the cooler for 'dessert'.
It was too cold to eat the frozen applesauce so they, along with the cheetos came home again.
Each of us had a camera to take as many pictures as we wanted. That meant none or 150 (or more!). I had dear hubby's nice spiffy Canon EOS Rebel T1i (I think that is what it is) that has two different lenses. Oh, I am liking his camera so much ... Lee took my new camera and Fox had the older camera. All are good cameras for taking pictures just one is way more awesome than the others :)
We had fun taking pictures first. Then we sat to eat our lunch. The wind didn't seem so bad when we were walking about taking pictures but when we sat down at the picnic table, the covering blocked the sun and funneled the wind right to us! We ate quickly!
We drove the short distance to the little play park that is across the street from the Educational Botanical Garden (um, yea, they mean well but uh, there's not much there). It was fairly cold by now!
The plan was (and this is according to Lee) to take pictures, eat lunch, then spin until they were sick and then go straight home. What a plan, huh?!? But, actually, that is how it worked out.
Fox wanted to be spun as fast as possible on the merry-go-round. Lee is pretty fast at it so she did the spinning while he primarily did the sitting. It was really fun to watch ;). I tried the spiffy features on hubby's camera, but not too many because I don't know what they all are for. I wasn't fast enough to get the kids when they were going around really fast on the merry-go-round but could randomly zoom in on their face when it wasn't so fast. When we got home and looked at the photos, both were like "Oh, delete that one!" "That's a horrible picture of me!" But I love them all :)
It was another good day. Of course, it's not over. There are still plenty of hours left to enjoy the day and each other. Speaking of, I am going to go do just that!
yay! I love taking pictures!! I'm so glad you had fun! It sounds like a GREAT day!
ReplyDeleteI think we are going to make up our Nature walk tomorrow. We missed it on Monday and then got rained out on the alternative day... maybe I'll just have to post some pictures. How'd you make your little collages?

For the collages I went to picnik.com No registration required, I don't think.
ReplyDeleteIt's fairly simple: From the Home page click on Collage. The choices are fairly limited unless you are a premium member. It even has a tutorial on how to make them. Otherwise I may not have had any! :)
Great pictures, Blossom, and obviously a wonderful day!
