Day 5: Senses {National Poetry Month & 30 Day Blog Challenge}

WRITE A POEM
Open your senses to new sensations. Choose a specific food (like spice rub or sauerkraut) and write about it using as many of the five senses as possible OR choose a general food (like pasta or soup) and write about its many forms.

This is an interesting prompt. I am generally of the "I like bland food" group, " but there are some I really appreciate. How about plain ol' salt?

Salt
Gritty, rough, most often white,
Sometimes it is even pink.
It has no smell.

It is a little square; beautiful up real close.

Without it, the body can ache,
But too (too) much, the pulse will race.

Without it, food is so plain to taste.
Add a dash and the sweetness is amplified, the savory is intensified.

I mean real salt.
