Day #13...wow. And I've only missed one day of posting! I'm going to link to yesterday's poem and prompt from the CCPL because I rather like the poem. Notice I share those I like.
"Cleveland, to What Shall I Lichen Thee?"
The prompt was better than today's as well, I think:
Write a poem about a book, a reading, a library or librarian and about a first in your life.

It is in honor National Library Week.
The Teachers
The first time that I learned to roller skate
It was with the help of a teacher that was great.
He took the time to lift me up when I fell,
And if he thought me silly, I couldn't tell.
When I did the things he suggested
The skating demon had been bested!
I raced around the rink, laughing
And it was all because of him, and his helping.
Mr. Dannis was a regular teacher
Who took the time to make a skater.
He was a teacher who listened to kids
When they had stories to tell, or fibs.
Other than that, another was Mrs. Hill,
My first grade teacher, who had the will
To work with me on my math
So that I wouldn't fail but pass.
Most recently Dr. Phenix, of Liberty University,
Who always deals with his students positively.
He has helped me think about things thoroughly
So that I can accomplish my goals superbly.
Mr. Clarke, my Earth Science teacher, was the best
One yet. In 10th grade he gave a gift I did not request.
It was a set of books by a famous author, C. S. Lewis.
This set is a favorite; even of my own kids, it is.
Each of these are firsts, of some sort or another,
That happened because of a special teacher
Who took the time to help another.
That's one reason I am going to be a teacher.
