My thoughts:
It is a beautiful book with many breathtaking images. All scriptures are NIV. It includes quite a bit for its small size. The format follows the days of creation.
1) The First Day: Creation of the Heavens and the Earth- the Foundation of it All2) The Second Day: Creation of the Atmosphere and Water3) The Third Day: Creation of the Dry Land and Vegetation4) The Fourth Day: Creation of the Sun, Moon, and Stars5) The Fifth Day: Creation of the Birds and Fish6) The Sixth Day: Creation of Land Creatures and Humans7) The Seventh Day
In each of the chapters, Jay goes into directions that perhaps others wouldn't in such a book. For example, in chapter 2, he talks about the rain cycle and why it makes such sense the way it works.
Such an intricate rain cycle is but another example of the complexities of design God created fro man's benefit. The vast oceans- 71% of the earth's surface- is perfectly designed for initiation of the important Rain Cycle and just the right amount of rain each year! More than 71% ocean would be a problem- too much rain and extreme floods.Less than 71% ocean would also be a problem- not enough rain and so vast deserts! (p. 21)
In chapter 4 he briefly talks about how the sun is used "then and now", in terms of 'preciseness', through illustrations of Stonehenge, England, and the "Ground Zero" Memorial Design in New York City, New York. He also talks about the moon's phases and tides. What if?...
What if our tides were not perfectly designed by God, as they are now- the moon a perfect size and distance away from the earth for the just right gravitational pull and tides? (p. 47)
And then there is God's "sense of humor" Jay talks about in chapter 5, Creation of the Birds and Fish. He includes photographs of the Piglet Squid, Dumbo Octopus, the Yeti Crab {if you've not seen that one, Google it!}, and others.
It is a book that even if you read it through, it can be looked at again and again; and re-read. There are some instances of strange wordings, in my opinion but the general idea is clear enough.
