Breakfast is said to be most important meal of the day- the nutrients get the mind going after a night of rest. The most nutritious breakfast is still debatable but oatmeal has long been a breakfast staple. In our house, oatmeal is one of the most commonly chosen food (especially when it's cold out!) to prepare. Sometimes I've made granola but most often it is just a nice bowl of warm oatmeal.
I heard that Quaker has come up with another yummy addition to their line of products- Quaker Soft Baked Bar. It is difficult to say who in our family would gobble these up first! My dear husband has the habit of just 'grabbing' his breakfast (these would fit that perfectly), the kids love any kind of bar and I like the wholesome food aspect. Nutrition is important to our family. We are not perfect when it comes to choosing the most wholesome foods but we do our best.
These new Quaker Soft Baked Bars would make a great breakfast snack. But I think they would be good any time of day, really. They have a nice amount of protein (6g) and fiber (5g). They are small on the calorie size- just 140 calories per bar. I would love to try the Banana Nut Bread but I'm thinking my kids would really like the Cinnamon Roll (the icing would get them for sure). They could be heated up but I think I'd just eat them as they are. And they just look so yummy! What do you think?
