Although Monday was Labor Day for the rest of the USA, we held school as usual. It isn’t that I’m against Labor Day (or any other opportunity to not do school *wink*) but we are taking Friday off. I’ve planned my 180 days out carefully and moving wasn’t in the plan at the time! We’ve taken a week here and there unplanned since the start of the school year –and although I love it –we have to watch when we take off. We have about 6 days tacked on the end of the year (excess of 180 days) so if needed we still can take some days off.
Monday was school as usual- for the most part. Ds had spent the night at a friends and started out his work day a little on the rough side. Fortunately it was taken care of that day. On Sunday night I had stayed up late (oh so late) working on both Lee and Fox’s schedules for the remaining weeks until the term is over. Fox is actually starting into a different history period and I had to locate a few books that somehow I had missed with my original planning way back in…when was that? February? Anyway, I found them (thanks to the AO Yahoo! Group and Yesterday’s Classics). I could have waited to make up the schedules but I’m feeling pressed for time.
The movers will take all of our stuff on Friday. Except what I set aside to take with us. We will be in a hotel for a minimum of 17 days. As many books as I can have on the Kindle, the better! I am not even sure if we will have internet (which I have been so blessed to be able to get wirelessly at home since I turned off the cable internet–my laptop decided to play nice with others ).
Oops that isn’t what this post is about! It is about what was not what is to be. Okay, back on track.
Lee is still feeling stressed with her science and as much as I have second thoughts, I do believe it will be of benefit to her if she simply focuses and continues with it. Beside, I cannot purchase anything else and I don’t want to have to reschedule things. She is doing just fine –has an A so far in the class (which is based on her understanding of the topic). It is a challenge for her but nothing she cannot handle.
School was done by 2:30 on Monday. Then we went to the river! We wanted to go somewhere today as well but the criteria was that it had to be fairly close (so as not to use too much gas) and that it had to be ‘free’ (no fees to enjoy). Living here for 3 years you would think I could think of at least one place that fit that. No. Not a one. We plan on going to the Scottsbluff National Monument before we leave… which leaves us with TOMORROW! Wow, well I guess I know what we want to do tomorrow!
Tuesday –another tough day with ds. We all had stayed up later than usual. They were playing outside, so nicely, that I didn’t want to disturb them. I should have…Anyway.
The weather has been beautiful. Not hot and sweltering but not cold (well, some of us felt that it was ). It actually rained a bit tonight. I have the windows open and now the breeze is causing goosebumps on my arms but it feels so good! I love Autumn.
