Shayz Scentz began when Shannette "Shay" Simon attended a craft show at a local church. Shay wanted to find talents that God had given her and expound on them. One thing she knew she loved- candles. You can read more about Shayz Scentz on their About Us page :)

I'm glad she found her talent! I have been most fortunate to be able to review a few items from Shayz Scentz. I highly recommend that you visit the website for Shayz Scentz as there are many products offered beside the ones in my review. 


The items that I received for review were two Blueberry Cobbler 1 oz Aroma Melts ($1.50-$3)  , 1 bottle of Coconut Fragrance Oil ($2-$4), and 1 8 oz jelly jar candle in Creamy Vanilla ($8).

Let me just get this one thing out there right off the bat: 
These smell absolutely wonderful.

One thing that I, even though I love candles and scents, find is that so often the scent I read and the scent I smell are not the same. I admittedly expected this to be the case because the products being reviewed I had only seen online and not had the chance to actually smell them. But I am so impressed! 


The Coconut Oil I think is supposed (?) to be used with an oil burner- which I do not have- but it did work quite well with another candle ;) By that I mean if you have a complimentary scented candle (such as a Creamy Vanilla), put a bit (not too much!) of this oil on the candle after it has been blown out, when the wax is nice and soft or liquefied. After the candle has cooled and probably solidified, relight it and revel in the smell. The label directs to put up to 1/4 of the bottle in melted wax.

 These photos here are of the 8 oz jelly jar in Creamy Vanilla. I included these two photos to show how this candle burns. You cannot see a smoke trail above the wick because there isn't one. Also look at how 'clean' the wax is when liquefied. 

Don't mind my photos in the background :) This has been on a shelf in my living room for days now. We light it daily and it has lasted a long time.

I was waiting to do this review officially until the candle neared the end so I could tell you how long it lasts but I just couldn't wait any longer!

There is something I must confess about the little Blueberry Cobbler melts that I received for review: I didn't use them as intended. No... I don't have a melter. Curious as to how I used these? 


One sat next to my overtaxed computer. While it- my computer- kicked out hot air, the little Blueberry Cobbler delightfully warmed up and emitted a delicious scent throughout my house. Although I do not recommend this (and I'm sure Shayz Scentz would not either, ahem), it worked absolutely wonderfully. The other melt went in my car. It works so nicely as a car freshener! Shayz Scentz does offer Air Fresheners by the way! They call it Smelly Jelly :)


Bottom line: I like these candles, melts and the oil. I am interested in the other products offered by Shayz Scentz and I do believe the price is reasonable (they are high quality scents and they last a long time). I would recommend these to others. 


The only thing that I had a 'problem' with is the website is a bit confusing. The prices are not consistent throughout and really until you add an item to the cart, it's not always clear what the price is. Once that is figured out, it's easy sailing.
