Top 100 Children's Novels..how many have you read?

Over at A Peaceful Day, Jeanne has listed some books that were listed as "The Top 100 Children's Novels" and I couldn't help looking through the list to see which I'd read. Actually just to see which I had even heard of. Mine, the ones I have actually read, are italicized and bold. My score, if you want to call it that, is only 23!

Jeanne pointed out that the list is very Americanized. It is, and I am sure there are many books that could be included on this list that aren't.

It is amazing when I look at this list. I read constantly when I was a child. I tell you I read so many books that it was 'eat, sleep, dream' books; give me a book before or even instead of lunch! But many of these I have not read and I wonder why. One reason I think it may have been is because there were movies made out of them and so I didn't read the book after seeing the movie (almost always ruins it for me). Some I'd not heard of. But I'm pretty sure I read every Beverly Cleary book we had at any library I went to. Also, Margaret L'Engle and Judy Blume. There are some on the list that I am uncertain if I actually read, or just wanted to. I didn't count those...
